In 2009 after going through years of fertility treatments with my husband, I created Fertile Grounding Yoga. During our treatments, I realized how much was missing from the process; nurturing, community, education, empowerment and a connection to the mind, body and spirit.
I designed Fertile Grounding Yoga for, but not exclusively to, individuals going through infertility. Through infertility, the stress, tension and angst in the body hardens all aspects of the physical and emotional body. Stress patterns build in the physical body and are not easily released. Yoga releases tension, emotion, and stress. It detoxifies the body emotionally and physically. Muscles and joints become supple again, the mind, body and spirit unite, and assist each other to bring a healthy state of balance to the body in preparation to receive.
The benefits of Fertility Yoga are amazing; reduces stress, reduces tension, calms a busy mind, softens stressed muscles, opens the reproductive channels, prepares the body to receive, improves blood flow, improves heart health, energizes the body, builds strength and stamina, detoxifies physically and emotionally, unites the body mind and spirit, and increases the potential for conception.
My classes, in Minneapolis, MN, encompass breath work, meditation, visualization and restorative & gentle flow yoga poses.
I currently teach 8 week Fertile Grounding Yoga workshops three times a year, a weekly Drop-In Fertility Yoga class, and guide Individual Lifestyle Sessions. Wednesday nights at 7:30-8:45pm - A weekly 75 minute class focusing on fertility fostering postures, meditation, and restoration for the mind, body and spirit. It’s part yoga class, part support group. We start class chatting, talking about where we are at, clearing emotions, sharing resources, and supporting each other. We follow with a yoga class tailored to our needs of the day. Currently this ongoing class runs Wednesday nights at the OM Collective. The format of this class is a “Drop in”, so come any time. Ideally, join me regularly 3 months prior to fertility treatments in addition to taking the 8 week Fertile Grounding Yoga Workshop, practicing regularly is important to create balance.
Schedule a one on one session with me, by emailing me. Locally in Minneapolis I usually meet face to face, outside of the local Minneapolis area we can do a phone or skype consult. Individual sessions include a lifestyle evaluation; nutrition, daily life, stress, and emotional state. We will go over your current lifestyle, and discuss ways to be bring health and fertility to your body. The little things are what matter here, we’ll reconnect your mind, body and spirit. Expect to have nurturing homework, that will help your body restore and receive.
